Review : Barrack Obama I’ve loved since he ran and then was elected President. Bruce Springsteen I knew of and certainly am familiar with many of his songs but as a person, I knew not much. I read this book cover to cover all the while thinking their thoughts about America are my thoughts. America is about all of us - not just the people I’ve seen in politics (until fairly recently mostly white men), on TV (certainly when I was younger mostly white men). Actually, in my lifetime until the last 20 years or so, white males have dominated the airwaves, politics, government, etc. But the American population is not all white. We are over 50% female and we are black, brown and every shade in-between. I’m an 80 year old white woman who has seen and applauded the changes I’m seeing in my country. In the late 1990s, I returned home from Europe (Czech Republic and Austria) where the vast majority of people were white. Entering the San Francisco Airport, I knew I was “home”. There were people of every color and ethnicity on their way to “their” homes in America. This was “my” America! Renegades - Born in the USA - This is a book I’ll be gifting to friends and family.
