Review : This is a useful book if you work in a global workplace environment. It provides countless useful examples of actual stories and challenges faced by individuals in their companies, and tips on how to overcome said challenges. It covers a wide range of company types and locations, and interaction types between people from different regions. The real practical, eye-opening information is through Erin's country mapping charts, where she plots (based on interviews and research) close to 20 different countries across 8 different factors that explain how these cultures build trust, communicate, collaborate, persuade, make decisions, etc. When you see the countries plotted out on these various scales, it leads to some quick "ah ha" moments that you can take back to your workplace and make minor tweaks in your approach that could make meaningful differences. I was between 4-5 stars because I'd have loved more statistical analysis or other published research in some of these examples, to supplement the anecdotal examples. Overall, a brief, useful, and enjoyable read.
